“EINSTEIN AND THOREAU: Two Mystics who Changed the World.”

Connie hosts a “virtual talk show”: MYSTICS ALIVE AND WELL with Henry David Thoreau (Richard Lyon) and Dr. Albert Einstein (Andrew Cameron Bailey) as her guests.

This is a scholarly but entertaining theatrical reading done in a light-hearted manner. The dialogue consists entirely of direct quotations from Einstein and Thoreau, and illustrates the parallels between the thinking of these two legendary men.

The underlying thesis of this presentation is that every human being is an embodiment of a larger force and has the capacity to connect with that force and through personal choice bring inspired action to pass in everyday life and transform the world as we know it.

Both Thoreau and Einstein had mystical experiences as children. These experiences informed their lives. This piece demonstrates the parallels in their extraordinary belief in the human potential and how they responded to the challenges of their times in education, government, science, racism and war.

We can each be inspired by the insights they give us so that we can face the challenges we face today in a constructive and positive way.
